Confession

I have to eat my words along with a little humble pie when I confess that I am suddenly, rabidly involved in March Madness. It all started when I received an invitation from a cousin to enter a bracket in the family challenge. Being rather competitive by nature, a trait which has not always served me well, I accepted and then began Googling phrases like "clueless female seeking help with bracket" and "what do the numbers next to teams mean?" A couple hours later, my bracket was complete and I went to bed, telling myself that winning wasn't everything and someone always has to lose. And when the madness began, I realized how appropriately it was named, because I wasn't losing! And now I'm in second place! It just goes to show that winning brackets have very little to do with actual knowledge of basketball and the NCAA. I think everyone who picked Kansas to win, like me, would agree with that statement. And now, to the immense pride of my husband, I pay attention to ball games and check CBSSports at least once a day to check my standing. Who woulda thunk.

PS. Just to clarify, my actual interest in sports hasn't changed - it's just that my competitive streak has gotten involved. If I end up last this year, my love affair with the NCAA will be at an end.

I was following it until BYU lost! Now I have lost interest again.
